The French 75 is a singularly elegant cocktail that takes its name from a World War I French artillery gun with a 75mm shell. Our alcohol-free version delivers all the flavor, but won't "knock you flat" like's its alcoholic counterpart. So you can keep partying all night long (and the next morning too).
INGREDIENTS:
-
1 oz / 30 ml / 2 tbs alcohol-free gin alternative
- 1/2 oz / 15 ml / 1 tbs fresh lemon juice (about one lemon)
- 1/2 oz / 15 ml / 1 tbs Simple Syrup (see below)
- 2 oz / 60 ml / 1/4 cup Noughty Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Chardonnay
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in a shaking tin or mason jar with a handful of ice and shake briefly to chill. Strain into a flute or coupe glass and top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
SIMPLE SYRUP:
Combine equal parts white sugar and water and shake or stir to dissolve the sugar. You can use hot water, but be sure to chill before mixing the cocktail. Will keep for a few weeks refrigerated.
